Specially arranged for Thailand! 2023 Taiwanese Nut Drink Tasting Event

Thailand has a very special festival called The Nine Emperor Gods Festival, commonly known as the"Vegetarian Festival". The Nine Emperor Gods Festival is from September 1st to September 9th in the lunar calendar every year. In Thai, we call it “เทศกาลกินเจ”, which means the day of vegetarianism. During the festival, you will find Thai streets, restaurants will be hung with a yellow background with red letters "Vegetarian food flag", usually the Chinese "齋" and Thai "เจ" will appear on the flag at the same time, so that people who want to eat vegetarian on the festival to facilitate the implementation of vegetarian action.

ในประเทศไทยนั้นมีเทศกาลที่พิเศษมากนั่นก็คือ เทศกาลเทพเจ้าเก้าจักรพรรดิ หรือที่เรียกกันว่า “เทศกาลกินเจ” โดยเทศกาลกินเจจะเริ่มตั้งแต่ 1 ค่ำถึง 9 ค่ำเดือน 9 นับตามปฏิทินจีน จะเห็นได้ว่าในช่วงเทศกาลนี้จะมีธงสีเหลืองตามร้านอาหาร มุมถนนหรือร้านข้างทางมากมาย บนธงจะมีตัวอักษรสีแดงเขียนว่า “齋” และ “เจ” ซึ่งทำให้ผู้ที่ทานเจมีความสะดวกในการหาอาหารเจได้มากขึ้น 

Vegetarian food in Thailand can be roughly divided into three types: vegetarian dishes, Buddhist vegetarian meals, and strict vegetarianism. Thai vegetarian dishes, the norm is to eat only plant foods, not to eat wine and honey, but only oysters, while strict vegetarianism is not to eat or use any animal products. Vegetarian meals are divided into many kinds, depending on personal choice.
