AURO’s Declaration of Color of the Year for 2021

There’s an indispensable bond between Mother Earth and Us

As human beings, we are a part of nature. We are not supposed to become enemies of nature. Forests, mountains, rainforests, oceans, rivers, and creatures of all species, they form a symbiotic chain just like the umbilical cord from Mother Earth. Beings are nourished by nature and are to live in symbiosis, and such bonds can never be cut off.

AURO Color of the Year for 2021

Grayish Orange and Pinkish Orange

AURO invited Zhu-Hua Peng, a lecturer from Colorworking, a studio dedicated to the knowledge of color, to share her opinion on color energy and her suggestion of AURO Color of the Year for 2021.

AURO Color of the Year for 2021 emphasizes two attributes: reciprocity and self-soothing; therefore Grayish Orange, Pinkish Orange, Standard Green, and Light Green are suggested, in hope that these colors can comfort people, calm their minds, return to their true selves, and dissolve the boundaries of beings to the extent that people may return to the symbiotic chain of nature.

Orange Symbolizes the Bonding and Cooperation between Humans

The low-key Grayish Orange isn’t a saturated hue. It doesn’t provide a visual impact from its brightness. On the contrary, it shows humbleness that makes people feel secured from its warmth. Pinkish Orange, resembling the color of complexion, presents the nature of humans. Humans and nature are one, so we need to help each other and unite as one. Both Grayish Orange and Pinkish Orange are hues with strong expectations of social ideals. They expect people to step out of the moral worth of the individual and focus on that of the society, in which people care and help each other.

The Blessings of Color Brings Wonder and Abundance

Color is a bridge that connects and metaphorizes the relation between humans and nature. AURO declares for Color of the Year 2021: “Return to the symbiotic chain of nature.” Playing a role that creates a natural and friendly space, humans are encouraged to embrace everything with open arms regardless of species. By experiencing different colors, humans will understand the diversity of the world, hereby they will learn to love themselves and others around them, with appreciation to the wonderful world they live in.
